Lawang Sewu

Lawang Sewu, or “A thousand doors”, is a collection of numerous historical buildings located at Semarang. Once used by Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappijatau or NIS, these buildings were silent witnesses of an era where Indonesia was still under occupation by the Netherlands, making them an inseparable part of not only Semarang historical legacy, but Indonesia as well. Located at Tugu Muda (once called Wilhelminaplein), it is a must visit for those wishing to explore and appreciate a part of Indonesia history
