Despite its reputation as one of the most famous tourist cities in Indonesia, Yogyakarta generally adheres to a more conservative style in terms of entertainment, making it quite a challenge to discover a fun and lively nightlife entertainment in the city. However, if you know where to look for, you certainly can find some very interesting places to visit.

Taphouse
One of the latest sensations in Yogyakarta is Taphouse, a beer garden opening just in April 2016 on Jalan Jlagran 18 (400 meters from Jalan Malioboro and near the train station.) What is unique about this hang-out venue is the fact that it is located in a ruined house, decorated with some vintage objects/plants with some fixes here and there but a large part of it are still untouched. What this means is a hanging out venue with a totally unique and original atmosphere, complete with imported drinks, live DJ entertainment, and many more. A definite recommendation!
